The Master of Translation and Interpreting program at UNSW is a two-year full-time graduate degree designed to help you focus on a specialization aligned with your career goals in translation and interpreting. This program integrates translation theory with practical interpreting training, along with optional courses in applied linguistics, offering a well-rounded language education customized to your preferences. Upon completion, you'll possess the expertise, competencies, and necessary accreditations to pursue careers as a certified translator or interpreter both in Australia and internationally. Our faculty engage students with authentic translation and interpreting assignments in professional environments, enabling you to practice your acquired skills through analytical thinking, self-directed study, project coordination, and collaborative work.
Bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) in any discipline with a record of academic achievement equivalent to a UNSW credit average of 65%^ and an advanced level of bilingual proficiency.
English Language Requirements:
IELTS: 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest)
TOEFL: 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking)
