UNSW's Master of Teaching (Primary) stands unique in Australia as a groundbreaking postgraduate qualification offering an accelerated pathway to becoming a primary school educator. This intensive program delivers two years' worth of teacher training condensed into just 1.3 years of full-time study (four terms). Created through collaboration with the NSW Department of Education and regional primary school networks, and officially recognized by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), our degree prepares graduates to teach across all primary year levels (K-6) in various educational settings, including public and private schools throughout Australia and internationally. The curriculum ensures students achieve the Australian graduate teacher standards through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Expert academics and practicing primary educators jointly deliver comprehensive instruction, covering both foundational education principles and specialized teaching methods across the six core primary subjects: English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, History and Geography, Creative Arts, and Personal Development, Health and Physical Education.
