Earn a recognized engineering certification while expanding your expertise in electrical engineering and enhancing your practical skills. The UNSW Master of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) is a two-year advanced program offered by the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications. Tailored for individuals holding a Bachelor of Engineering, this degree provides professional accreditation for roles in evolving electrical engineering fields. You'll study diverse subjects to prepare for a successful engineering career, covering - Electrical and electronic systems, Sustainable energy solutions, Energy distribution networks, Electricity production, Data signal techniques, Automated control mechanisms, Leadership in engineering projects. This program incorporates 60 days of industry placement alongside coursework to strengthen your technical abilities in engineering leadership, problem-solving, and system design, ensuring you graduate with both qualifications and practical readiness. You'll advance your electrical engineering understanding and gain valuable hands-on experience within a faculty that fosters innovation and inclusion. As a member of a globally respected engineering institution, you'll contribute to meaningful projects that create positive global impact.
Admission to this program requires one of the following:
4-year non-accredited (under the Washington Accord) Bachelor of Engineering degree (or equivalent) in a cognate discipline with a minimum 65% average; or
3-year Bachelor of Engineering Science degree in a cognate discipline, at least equivalent to the first three years of an Engineering degree accredited under the Washington Accord with a minimum 75% average.
A pathway for entry into the program for graduates from both 4-year Bachelor of Engineering degrees in non-cognate disciplines, and 3-year Bachelor of Science degrees, exists via enrolment first into the Bachelor of Engineering (BE) program, where advanced standing (to a maximum of 2 years) may be granted.
English Language Requirements:
IELTS: 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL IBT (Internet Based): 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking); Pearson (PTE - Academic): 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); C1 Advanced Cambridge: 176 overall (min. 169 in each subtest); C2 Proficiency Cambridge: 180 overall (min. 180 in each subtest); UNSW Global University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component.
