The Graduate Certificate in Design comprises four courses: two foundational design courses covering design processes and communication, plus two electives from design practice areas or other studio options. Available electives encompass Spatial Experiences, Interaction Design and UX, Visualization and Visual Effects, Future Making, Graphic Communication, Planar Practices, and Temporal/Spatial Practices.
Admission to the Graduate Certificate in Design requires a Bachelors degree in any field. Applicants who apply with a bachelors degree completed more than 10 years ago can be admitted to the Graduate Certificate in Design where they have 5 or more years professional experience in a design or media-related field since graduation. Applicants without a Bachelors degree may be admitted to the Graduate Certificate on a case-by-case basis by the Program Director, on the basis of a Portfolio of work and professional experience.
English Language Requirements:
IELTS: 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL IBT (Internet Based): 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking); Pearson (PTE - Academic): 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); C1 Advanced Cambridge: 176 overall (min. 169 in each subtest); C2 Proficiency Cambridge: 180 overall (min. 180 in each subtest); UNSW Global University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component.
