The UNSW Graduate Certificate in City Planning is a concise postgraduate course designed to help you transition into urban and regional planning by leveraging your prior education or professional background. Urban planning offers a dynamic, diverse, and forward-looking career path that critically influences how cities develop. By pursuing this field, you'll contribute to creating sustainable, fair, health-conscious, and inspiring urban environments. As a student in the Faculty of Arts, Design & Architecture, you'll become part of an exceptionally interdisciplinary academic environment. You'll collaborate with peers and experts from various built environment disciplines, mirroring real-world professional settings. The program connects you with UNSW's robust industry networks and cutting-edge urban planning research, while covering topics like urban regeneration, city data analysis, housing strategies, and eco-friendly community development.
A Bachelor's degree with a credit average or above (WAM of 65+). Students applying for either the Grad. Dip or MCP who do not meet these standard admission requirements, may be able to enter the Grad. Cert. This will be at the discretion of he Program Director or Academic Coordinator who will assess applications on a case-by-case basis.
English Language Requirements:
IELTS: 7.0 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL IBT (Internet Based): 94 overall (min. 25 in writing, 23 in reading, listening and speaking); Pearson (PTE - Academic): 65 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); C1 Advanced Cambridge: 185 overall (min. 169 in each subtest); C2 Proficiency Cambridge: 185 overall (min. 180 in each subtest); UNSW Global University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of B and a minimum grade of C in the writing component.
