Qualification Requirements

Entry is based on a bachelor qualification with second-class honours or equivalent in a relevant discipline, or a bachelor qualification with relevant research preparation.

To be eligible to apply for this course you must meet one of the following entry requirements:

You have completed a Bachelor with Honours qualification (AQF Level 8 or overseas equivalent) in a relevant discipline, with a minimum result of second class honours or equivalent.
You have completed an AQF Level 7 qualification (or overseas equivalent) in any field of study, and you have had adequate relevant preparation since graduation.*
Please note: You must also meet both of the following requirements:

You have completed a Master of Philosophy research proposal which has received approval by the relevant School.
You meet the English Language Requirements for all Higher Degree by Research candidates. Please see the Additional Requirements section below for further information.
Eligibility for admission is reviewed by the Head of School or delegate (for example, Higher Degree Research (HDR) coordinator) under the oversight of the Associate Dean Research (ADR).

An IELTS(Academic) overall score of at least 6.5 with no sub-band score less than 6.0 (or equivalent TOEFL score of at least 91 in the internet-based test with no less than 22 in the written component and 20 in listening, speaking and reading), or a Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic minimum overall score of 64 with no skill less than 58, or
