The Master of Philosophy program empowers students to exhibit independent thinking and showcase their research capabilities within their selected field. This degree is available across the faculty's key research domains, spanning biological sciences, chemistry, earth sciences, atmospheric sciences, environmental sciences, mathematics, astronomy, and physics. Science graduates find career paths in diverse sectors such as genetic engineering, agricultural support, pharmaceutical development, banking and finance, environmental consulting, healthcare institutions, mining, petroleum, engineering, research, and the food and beverage industry. Additional opportunities arise with organizations like the Department of Sustainability and Environment, CSIRO, defense forces, infrastructure authorities, museums, local governments, education, and healthcare.
