Ancient World Studies encompasses the comprehensive examination of Classical Greece and Rome, along with Egypt and the Near East from 3000 BCE through the 4th century CE. Learners can select from diverse subject tracks, blending translated text studies including mythology, literature, history, and philosophy with investigations of archaeology, art, and architectural remains. Furthermore, participants may concentrate on specific historical eras, geographical zones, technical specialties like mythology or pottery, or thematic research areas. Participants will acquire profound understanding of modern civilization by investigating how ancient societies influenced today's world regarding gender and ethnic identity, conflict, colonial expansion, the persuasive impact of literary and visual representations, plus technological and economic systems. They'll cultivate versatile career skills in research, writing, critical analysis, and effective communication.
