The Music Theatre specialization provides artistic guidance for your self-designed independent project, supplemented by seminars—potentially including practical components—alongside research instruction and academic oversight. Participants may include both creators and performers of original productions, as well as artists focused on honing specific music theatre performance skills. VCA Music Theatre celebrates diverse interpretations of the genre and encourages projects that explore and redefine musical theatre's boundaries while examining what constitutes excellence in professional performance.

Qualification Requirements

within the last 5 years, a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a weighted average mark of at least H2B (70%), or equivalent, with a major relevant to the discipline stream within the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Degree with Honours) that they seek to enter. IELTS total score of at least 6.5 in the Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS), with no bands less than 6.0. TOEFL (internet-based): total score at of least 79 and scores of 21 for writing, 18 for speaking, 13 for reading and 13 for listening. TOEFL (paper-based): total score of at least 577 with a score of 4.5 in the Test of Written English.
