The Bachelor of Fine Arts (Film and Television) program at the Victorian College of the Arts helps you cultivate your artistic vision while mastering professional techniques to produce high-quality screen content across all phases of film and TV production. As a student in this program, you'll gain creative, technical, and critical thinking abilities within a supportive environment that fosters innovation and experimentation. The curriculum allows you to write, direct, and edit your own projects while collaborating on peers' productions.
You'll enjoy access to cutting-edge facilities featuring professional production and animation studios, two cinema theaters (90 and 220 seats), both analog and digital film cameras with audio equipment, plus advanced HD post-production suites for video and sound.
Through breadth subjects available each year, you can pursue interdisciplinary studies across the university, acquiring complementary skills that either enhance your specialization or let you explore fresh creative directions.
Career advancement opportunities
After graduating, you may pursue an optional Honours year for intensive specialization, which also serves as preparation for advanced graduate studies in acting or related fields.

English language requirements
TOEFL Internet-based test: total score of at least 79 and scores of 21 for writing, 18 for speaking, 13 for reading and 13 for listening; IELTS: total score of at least 6.5 in the Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS), with no bands less than 6.0; Pearson Test of English Academic : overall score of at least 58 and no PTE communicative skills score below 50; Cambridge English, Advanced/Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): Cambridge English Score of at least 176 with no skill below 169; C2 Proficiency (previously called Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE) examination): Cambridge English Score of at least 180 with no skill below 180.
