Exceptional design possesses the transformative ability to deliver enduring solutions that enhance our daily experiences. Design professionals employ imaginative and flexible methodologies to identify and address challenges, resulting in superior decision-making. This empowers organizations and sectors to break free from inflexible or obsolete practices. Design plays a vital role in shaping and refining urban spaces, architectural structures, transportation systems, furnishings, digital platforms, operational procedures, infrastructure projects, outdoor areas, and ecological systems. Designers serve as pioneers who elevate our living standards and how we engage with our surroundings. The Bachelor of Design program enables students to integrate humanities, sciences, and visual/performing arts into a unified academic journey. Students can customize their expertise through elective studies and advanced design concentrations, including Building Information Modeling (BIM), to complement their primary curriculum. Options include focusing on one or two primary disciplines, or combining a major with a minor.

Those pursuing the Civil Systems specialization will develop the capacity to systematically blend scientific principles with design methodology, delivering precise data and optimal answers to real-world infrastructure challenges. Key competencies to be cultivated encompass: foundational understanding for precise digital simulation of civil structures, analytical and conceptual reasoning, troubleshooting and design capabilities, and proficiency in conducting laboratory tests to validate or dismiss potential solutions to intricate issues. Throughout this specialization, we emphasize cultivating outstanding communication abilities, enabling graduates to present technical information clearly and effectively. The Civil Systems track offers multiple career trajectories, including accredited engineering or research positions through advanced studies in Master of Engineering (ME) or doctoral programs. Alternative options include professional graduate studies in education, legal, or business fields. Graduates may also directly enter the job market, where employers highly value their combination of design, technical, and analytical capabilities.
