The Bachelor of Arts (Honours Degree) provides an intensive year of specialized study for outstanding undergraduate students. This advanced program allows you to deepen your expertise in your chosen field, demanding higher academic performance than a standard bachelor's degree. It encompasses diverse Arts disciplines across humanities, social sciences, and languages, while strengthening students' capacity for sophisticated research, critical analysis, and creative thinking. The program fosters the ability to devise innovative approaches to complex challenges. Students can focus on either a single discipline (pure honours) or combine two areas of study (combined honours).
The curriculum comprises two key components: producing an original historical research thesis and attending professional seminars examining historical methodologies. Thesis work involves close mentorship from faculty experts, requiring students to conduct primary source research, analyze materials, and position their findings within existing scholarship. Through this process, students gain valuable competencies in research, analytical reasoning, persuasive writing, public speaking, and constructing well-supported arguments.
