The Arabic Studies curriculum presents a comprehensive approach to learning both the Arabic language and various aspects of Arab culture. In addition to language acquisition, students explore what it means to live, perceive, behave, and engage in the 'Arab way.' As language skills advance, increasing focus is placed on analyzing and critically examining topics related to Arabic literature, history, Arab society, and religion in the Arab world. Arabic language courses follow a structured progression from Arabic 1 to Arabic 10. Starting levels are based on students' prior knowledge, placement tests, prerequisites, or the Arabic Studies program's assessment. Students typically advance through the courses sequentially. Mid-year enrollment is available for even-numbered courses, pending appropriate qualifications and approval from the Arabic Studies program director.
