La Trobe's Bachelor of Global Studies provides comprehensive knowledge about critical issues affecting major regions and nations worldwide. This program is structured to familiarize you with global challenges and policy solutions, equipping you with skills to address future complexities. Core subjects cover international relations history, geopolitical dynamics, modern security concerns—like US influence, China's ascent, current warfare, and terrorism—along with pressing human and environmental security matters.

Examine international collaboration and disputes. Assess how power, sovereignty, and security interact, investigating pivotal shifts in modern global affairs. Explore the significant impact of international legal frameworks, covering humanitarian, environmental, and refugee legislation.

The Greek Studies specialization lets you explore Greek language, heritage, history, and politics from antiquity to today. You'll gain analytical insights into Greek cultural development both in its homeland and across diasporas, including multicultural Australia. Melbourne's vibrant Greek community offers rich opportunities to apply your learning in real-world settings. Combine language courses at different proficiency levels with cultural studies focused on ancient and modern Greek literature, history, and society. This major prepares you for diverse careers in education, translation, healthcare, finance, tourism, and related fields locally or abroad. You'll have opportunities to study in Greece or Cyprus through exchange programs or La Trobe's short-term overseas course "Connecting with Language and Culture in Greece."
