The Bachelor of Laws combined with a Bachelor of Computer Science offers an accredited legal qualification while equipping students with specialized skills in software development and computer science. This program delivers a comprehensive legal education that fosters an appreciation of law's societal role and its importance for Australia as a global trading partner. Students gain in-depth knowledge of modern techniques for analyzing, designing, and implementing complex systems, alongside foundational computer science principles covering hardware and operating systems. Consistent with Swinburne's IT programs, this course emphasizes human factors in computer system development, deployment, and usage, with special attention to mobile and web applications and human-computer interface design. The curriculum offers advanced computer science electives in artificial intelligence, networking, databases, enterprise systems, and programming languages, with particular emphasis on game design and interactive software development. Students develop object-oriented programming skills and specialized expertise in game creation, while exploring multimedia and internet technologies' creative aspects, especially for gaming applications.
