This program enjoys strong industry backing, with most urban planners in Victoria being RMIT graduates. Employers consistently seek out our urban planning and environment alumni for their distinctive blend of environmental science and policy expertise.
Graduates qualify for membership with the Planning Institute of Australia. The program is available both online and in-person, with most classes held during weekday evenings and select subjects taught through intensive full-day workshops. Core subjects and certain electives are also accessible online for students unable to attend on-campus sessions.
The Planning Institute of Australia accredits the Master of Urban Planning and Environment. Upon completion, graduates can join the Urban and Regional Planning Chapter of the Planning Institute of Australia, with potential reciprocal membership in major international planning organizations based on their chosen specialization within the master's program.
