The UNSW Graduate Diploma in City Planning is a three-semester postgraduate course designed to enhance your existing qualifications or work background, helping you advance or transition into urban and regional planning careers. Urban planning represents a dynamic, multifaceted field that critically influences how our cities evolve. By pursuing this path, you'll contribute to creating sustainable, fair, health-conscious, and motivating urban environments. Within the Faculty of Arts, Design & Architecture, you'll become part of an exceptionally collaborative, cross-disciplinary network. You'll collaborate with fellow students and experts from various built environment disciplines, mirroring real-world professional settings. Leveraging UNSW's robust industry connections and cutting-edge urban planning research, you'll examine wide-ranging topics such as urban regeneration, city data analysis, housing strategies, and eco-friendly community development. For those seeking professional certification, you can advance to the Master of City Planning program with credit for completed coursework.
A Bachelor degree with a credit average or above (WAM 65+). Advanced standing may also be granted for completed or partially completed postgraduate awards from UNSW or from another institution. Students who do not meet these requirements may be eligible to commence their postgraduate planning studies through taking the Grad. Cert.
English Language Requirements:
IELTS: 7.0 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL IBT (Internet Based): 94 overall (min. 25 in writing, 23 in reading, listening and speaking); Pearson (PTE - Academic): 65 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); C1 Advanced Cambridge: 185 overall (min. 169 in each subtest); C2 Proficiency Cambridge: 185 overall (min. 180 in each subtest); UNSW Global University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of B and a minimum grade of C in the writing component.
