The Bachelor of Arts (Photography) combines theoretical frameworks, creative approaches, and professional applications of photography within the media and communications sector.
Students will create impactful work engaging with critical perspectives across local and international settings while investigating new technologies and assessing their influence on personal photographic expression.
Graduates emerge as skilled professionals equipped to navigate and influence the photographic field, finding success in diverse areas such as advertising, architectural imaging, film production, exhibition curation, documentary work, editorial photography, arts education, fine art photography, digital image enhancement, photojournalism, post-production, and publishing.
The program actively promotes practical experience through industry collaborations, competitive opportunities, and both domestic and international placements. Past students have partnered with organizations like The Social Studio, ABC Fact Check, Nepal Picture Factory, and participated in events such as the Ballarat International Foto Biennale, with many receiving recognition in prestigious photography awards.
