If you dream of exploring the globe, mentoring youth, or shaping future innovators, this program provides practical experience and a career advantage for aspiring secondary educators. Designed as a 1.75-year full-time teaching certification, it's ideal for graduates with non-Education bachelor's degrees in teaching-related disciplines. You might transition from undergraduate studies in fields like literature or media - just as Chelsea did when pursuing her calling (discover her journey through this career shift). The program equips you with specialized expertise to instruct students in grades 7-12 within your chosen subject area. When selecting Science or Humanities and Social Sciences (HaSS) as your major, you'll cover the full curriculum for grades 7-10 before focusing on your specialization for senior years. Additionally, you'll select a secondary teaching focus (minor) from available options, excluding Health and Physical Education which is only offered as a major-minor pairing. A minor qualification enables you to teach grades 7-10 in that subject, with Science and HaSS minors requiring comprehensive curriculum coverage. Graduating with dual teaching qualifications significantly enhances your employment prospects.
