You have the option to complete your studies in an accelerated 1.5-year track or follow the standard two-year full-time program. Opting for the accelerated path allows you to apply for teaching registration six months ahead of graduates from other institutions. Designed for career changers without an education background who aspire to teach in secondary schools, this degree equips you with the essential qualifications for QCT registration. The program covers teaching methodologies, learner and educator characteristics, and the societal aspects of education. It combines educational theory, specialized curriculum studies in two teaching areas, and hands-on experience in secondary classrooms. Students may select up to four curriculum study courses from undergraduate offerings. Upon completing the Master of Secondary Teaching, graduates qualify for Queensland College of Teachers registration and are prepared for teaching roles in public or private schools, with potential advancement to leadership positions like department head or principal. Those pursuing registration in other states or countries should consult the relevant professional authority.
