If you dream of exploring the globe, mentoring youth, or motivating future innovators, this program provides practical training and a career advantage for entering secondary education. Designed as a 1.75-year full-time teaching certification for graduates with non-Education bachelor's degrees in relevant fields, it allows career shifts from disciplines like English or communications into teaching - just as Chelsea did when pursuing her calling (listen to her journey about this transformation). You'll gain specialized expertise to instruct students in grades 7-12 within your chosen subject area. Opting for Science or humanities/social sciences (HaSS) as your major requires teaching all Year 7-10 curriculum components before focusing on your specialization for Years 11-12. Additionally, you'll select a secondary teaching focus (minor) from available options, excluding Health and Physical Education which is only offered as a major-minor pairing. A minor qualification enables you to teach that subject to Years 7-10 students, with Science and HaSS minors covering all curriculum aspects. Graduating with dual teaching qualifications significantly enhances your employment prospects.
