Counselors provide crucial assistance during life's most challenging moments, offering support when people need it most. Whether you're starting your path to becoming a professional counselor or seeking to strengthen counseling skills for roles in teaching, nursing, or human services, this program builds both professional capabilities and personal preparedness. Through hands-on learning, you'll emphasize the importance of therapeutic relationships in effective counseling. Upon completion, you can pursue further studies in the Graduate Diploma in Counselling, Graduate Diploma in Creative Arts Therapies, or Master of Counselling, with credit for overlapping coursework.
Completion of a bachelor degree (AQF Level 7) or equivalent in any discipline. Applications based on previous study or professional experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - IELTS overall score of 7.0 with no band less than 7.0; Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): 185 overall with no band below 185; Pearson Test of English (PTE): 68 with no band below 68; Test of English as a Foreign Language - IBT (TOEFL IBT) - 94 with no band less than 24; Occupational English Test (OET) - (Taken after September 2018) OET with a minimum of four B's (350-440) in each of the four components
