The Master of Professional Psychology is a one-year program that fulfills the accreditation standards set by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for a fifth-year generalist psychology qualification.
This program equips chosen psychology graduates with advanced psychotherapy competencies needed for general psychologist registration. It enhances your professional ability to utilize psychological theories, research methodologies, assessment techniques, and therapeutic approaches. After completing the program, you'll qualify for a year of supervised general practice before achieving full psychologist registration.
Upon finishing the course, graduates will possess the essential skills to undertake their final supervised practice year under the '51 internship model' for general registration. Program graduates secure a Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA)-approved one-year internship in their preferred professional settings.
