This groundbreaking program stands as the inaugural offering of its kind in the southern hemisphere, bringing together specialists from Monash University's Department of Forensic Medicine and Faculty of Law, alongside Australia's foremost authorities in their respective disciplines. For healthcare practitioners, the curriculum offers valuable perspectives on the legal structures supporting coronial and judicial processes, as well as the significance of medical evidence within these frameworks. Legal professionals involved in coronial or criminal cases, or medical negligence matters, will acquire knowledge about forensic methodologies, their applications and constraints.
Through the Master of Forensic and Legal Studies, you will:
Cultivate expertise to formulate advanced, autonomous decisions guided by legal doctrines in forensic environments and forensic principles in legal contexts.
Acquire comprehension of, and proficiency in articulating, the medical-legal foundations that support justice systems.
Produce comprehensive medical-legal documentation.
