The Master of Banking and Finance equips you to enter the banking or financial sector, even without prior experience. This program provides comprehensive insights into banking and finance, deepens your understanding of financial institutions, and offers hands-on learning experiences. Throughout the course, you'll study portfolio management, lending practices, risk assessment, money markets, and financial administration.
This degree also cultivates practical abilities – such as analytical reasoning and effective communication – that you can immediately apply as you launch your career in the fast-paced world of banking and finance.
Entry level 1: An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) and achieved a weighted average mark (WAM) of 60 or an equivalent grade point average (GPA) as determined by the faculty. Applicants will be ranked and selected based on their entire academic record.
Entry level 2: An Australian undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a cognate discipline with a WAM of 60, or qualifications/experience or satisfactory substitute that the faculty consider to be equivalent
OR
An Australian graduate certificate (or equivalent) in a cognate discipline with a WAM of 60, or qualifications/experience or satisfactory substitute that the faculty consider to be equivalent
OR
A four-year Australian undergraduate honours degree (or equivalent) with a WAM of 60 or qualification/experience or satisfactory substitute that the faculty considers to be equivalent.
Entry level 3: An Australian undergraduate honours degree (or equivalent) in a cognate discipline with a WAM of 60, or qualification/experience or a satisfactory substitute that the faculty considers to be equivalent, which has not been used as a basis for entry to another course within the Monash Business School.
Level A
IELTS (Academic): 6.5 Overall score, with minimum band scores: Listening 6.0, Reading 6.0, Writing 6.0 and Speaking 6.0
Pearson Test of English (Academic): 58 Overall score, No PTE communicative skills score below 50
TOEFL Internet-based test: 79 Overall score, with minimum scores: Reading 13, Listening 12, Speaking 18 and Writing 21
Paper-based TOEFL 550 Test of written English: 4.5
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) 176 No skill score below 169
Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE) 176 No skill score below 169
