The Master of Architecture program prepares you to become a skilled urban professional and innovator, capable of creating forward-thinking architectural designs that address modern societal demands while envisioning the future of our constructed world. As a participant, you'll explore specialized architectural fields through intensive coursework, ranging from residential design to digital methodologies and urban planning. Design-focused studio projects will connect you with top-tier industry practices.
This comprehensive curriculum offers diverse design studio options paired with advanced architectural theory courses. These components teach research methodologies in architectural design while exploring interdisciplinary aspects including socio-cultural influences, political contexts, economic factors, historical perspectives, theoretical frameworks, and technical considerations in modern architecture and urban development. The program includes practical training through a Professional Practice unit during your final year, equipping you with hands-on experience in multidisciplinary teamwork and contemporary construction techniques. Your academic journey concludes with an independent capstone project. Note that architectural registration requires two additional years of professional experience and successful completion of the AACA Architectural Practice Examination.

Entry Level 1:
Duration: 3 years full-time (144 points)

Requires an Australian undergraduate degree (or equivalent) with at least distinction (70%) average.

Entry Level 2:
Duration: 2 years full-time (96 points)

Requires an Australian undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Architecture with at least distinction (70%) average in the final year of the degree. This qualifying undergraduate degree must have been completed within 5 years of the proposed commencement of the Masters program. Students who have successfully completed the Bachelor of Architectural Design at Monash University will automatically progress to the 2-year Master of Architecture.
