While preparing graduates for professional careers, it also serves as a foundation for pursuing Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy degrees through coursework or research. The Clayton honors program covers most scientific disciplines available in the Bachelor of Science at the Clayton campus, combining seminar-based coursework with an extensive research project. Science graduates find career opportunities across diverse sectors including biotechnology, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, finance, environmental consulting, healthcare, mining, and food technology. Potential employers range from government agencies like the Department of Sustainability and Environment to research institutions such as CSIRO, as well as museums, educational institutions, and various industries. Career paths vary by specialization, with graduates working as environmental consultants, medical researchers, data analysts, science communicators, educators, or specialists in fields like marine biology, materials science, forensic analysis, and meteorological prediction.
