The Fine Art program is a studio-centered degree emphasizing modern artistic practices. Students cultivate their creative concepts while mastering new techniques, materials, and artistic mediums. At Monash, studios serve as collaborative hubs for innovation, teamwork, and education. With specialized facilities, the Fine Art program links budding artists with essential resources, professional development, industry expertise, and a vibrant artistic network. Art History and Curating enhances your comprehension and valuation of art, exploring its origins and cultural impact to prepare you for careers in art criticism, curation, and cultural sectors. Distinctively, you'll learn alongside working artists while utilizing on-campus galleries and Monash University Museum of Art's extensive contemporary collection, immersing you in the art world with practical exposure. Both degree paths offer internship opportunities for professional experience, available as single or combined degrees. Monash's Fine Art program stands out for its interdisciplinary first-year approach, encouraging collaboration across traditional and emerging art forms and technologies.
You'll collaborate with established artists and professionals from related creative domains like art theory, arts management, and curation, building valuable networks and adaptable skills.
