The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is a non-graded academic qualification granted for original research that advances knowledge in a specific discipline.
This research may enhance scholarly understanding either by introducing novel findings or by offering fresh critical perspectives on existing knowledge.
Candidates must produce a thesis of maximum 50,000 words, evaluated by a minimum of two external examiners. The program may incorporate coursework components and research seminar participation.
All faculties offer the MPhil degree. Certain fields may mandate additional research training or prerequisite coursework in research methodology before accepting applicants into the program.
