This course is tailored for individuals with teaching or educational administration experience, or those with a professional focus on education.
Evaluation involves a 40,000-word thesis that accounts for the entire degree assessment and undergoes external review. Candidates lacking previous research training must complete 60 credit points of research coursework during their first full-time semester.

the satisfactory completion of an Australian Bachelor's degree with at least a Weighted Average Mark of 70 in the relevant discipline
a qualification of La Trobe University or a recognised tertiary institution which is deemed by the Board of Graduate Research to be equivalent to the qualification specified in (a) above
the demonstrated possession of research skills or publications approved by the Board of Graduate Research as an acceptable basis for admission to candidature. Some additional preliminary studies may need to be undertaken.
The minimum academic requirement for entry to a Masters by research at La Trobe is a three year Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline completed within the last ten years with a weighted average mark in the final year of 65 or above.
