This master's program is designed for graduates with educational experience seeking to enhance their research capabilities. It equips you with essential knowledge and analytical skills for advancing in education-related careers or pursuing doctoral studies. The curriculum combines structured postgraduate coursework with independent research on a topic of your choice, culminating in a thesis submission and presentation. You'll receive personalized guidance from an academic supervisory team throughout your research journey. The program establishes a strong framework for research methodologies, specifically tailored to education and learning contexts, including critical analysis of research literature, effective research communication, and ethical research conduct. You'll explore diverse research approaches such as ethnographic studies, discourse analysis, case studies, and survey methodologies. Upon completion, you'll be well-prepared for leadership positions in education or academic research. As a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program, it qualifies for the Australian Government's Research Training Program (RTP), offering tuition fee support for domestic students throughout the standard course duration.
A four year undergraduate degree in Education or a three year degree and a one year graduate diploma in a related area, or academic qualifications deemed equivalent with above average performance, and demonstrated capacity and/or aptitude for research. Two years of relevant work experience would be an advantage. Students without research training units in their previous studies will be advised to undertake the combined coursework/research training option in the course.

To be eligible you must have an overall IELTS Academic score (or equivalent) of 7.0, with no band score below 6.5. TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 94 with: R: 19; L: 20 S: 20; W: 24; Pearson Test of Academic English: 65 with no skill score below 58; Cambridge English Scale: 185 with no sub-score below 176; Occupational English Test: No grade lowers than 'B' in any of the sub-tests.
