Gain comprehensive knowledge about the physiological aspects of speech and swallowing disorders while learning therapeutic interventions. Acquire practical experience through roughly 1,000 hours of clinical placements at campus facilities and healthcare centers throughout Victoria. Your fourth year will involve enhancing speech pathology practices through either an industry-focused project or research thesis.
Develop expertise to practice in alignment with the Competency Based Occupational Standards for Speech Pathologists (CBOS), Demonstrate independent and collaborative application of specialized knowledge across various healthcare, educational, and human service environments including digital health platforms, Assess and critically examine speech pathology methodologies in international contexts considering cultural diversity and evolving circumstances, Modify expert clinical knowledge to create innovative solutions for complex cases
At a minimum, you need to have completed Australian Year 12 (or an accepted international equivalent) with a certain grade. You may also need to meet subject pre-requisites
English language requirement:
IELTS: Overall 7.5, no band less than 7.0; Pearson Test of English (PTE): Overall score of 76 with no communicative skill score less than 66; TOEFL Internet based (iBT): Overall 102 with 24 in Reading, 24 in Listening, 23 in Speaking and 27 in Writing; Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) / Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 191 with no less than 185 in any component
