La Trobe's Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics (Honours) prepares you to become a skilled healthcare professional specializing in addressing physical and functional impairments. Starting in your first year, you'll gain hands-on experience through clinical placements at both La Trobe's on-campus facilities and external locations. The curriculum covers anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, along with prosthetic and orthotic prescription, design, and manufacturing. The honors program offers two pathways: industry-focused or research-oriented, where you'll undertake either a significant industry project or a research thesis in your final years.

Effectively share specialized knowledge by collaborating with diverse professional and non-professional groups across various cultural and clinical environments. Develop, execute, and assess personalized prosthetic and orthotic treatment plans based on clinical evaluations and evidence-based practices. Continuously evaluate your professional approach to enhance patient care through targeted skill development. Utilize technical and interpersonal abilities to create, deliver, and assess comprehensive prosthetic and orthotic services
At a minimum, you need to have completed Australian Year 12 (or an accepted international equivalent) with a certain grade. You may also need to meet subject pre-requisites
English language requirement:
IELTS: Overall 7.0, no band less than 6.5; Pearson Test of English (PTE): Overall score of 66 with no communicative skill score less than 56; TOEFL Internet based (iBT): Overall score of 94 with 19 in Reading, 20 in Listening, 20 in Speaking and 24 in Writing; Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) / Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 185 with no less than 176 in any component
