This program caters to graduate and professional scientists seeking to enhance their expertise in clinical and environmental microbiology, bioinformatics, protein science, molecular biology, and genomics for application in commercial settings. It also benefits scientists aspiring to transition into business research management or entrepreneurship within biotechnology's dynamic fields, including clinical, agricultural, food, and environmental applications. Graduates will gain strong employability through comprehensive training in modern biotechnologies, business innovation, marketing strategies, commercial planning, and research management within industrial contexts.
To be eligible for admission to the Master of Biotechnology, you must have one of:
Pathway 1 - 1 year program (80CP):
A recognised Bachelor Honours degree (or higher) in a *related discipline with a minimum grade point average of 4.0 using a 7.0 scale; OR a recognised Bachelor degree (or higher) in a *related discipline with a minimum grade point average of 4.0 using a 7.0 scale; AND a minimum of 2 years full-time (or equivalent) relevant ^professional experience.
Pathway 2 - 1.5 year program (120CP):
A recognised Bachelor degree (or higher) in a *related discipline with a minimum grade point average of 4.0 using a 7.0 scale; AND a minimum of 1 year full-time (or equivalent) relevant ^professional experience.
Pathway 3 - 2 year program (160CP):
A recognised Bachelor degree (or higher) in a *related discipline with a minimum grade point average of 4.0 using a 7.0 scale.
