This program prepares you to support individuals, families, and communities. You'll gain expertise in Australian human services while building the competencies to create positive change locally and globally. The curriculum fosters a thorough grasp of social justice, empowerment, and inclusion principles. You'll specialize in one of these areas: Children, Youth and Family Criminal Justice Disability, Wellbeing and Ageing Policy, Advocacy and Research. Key benefits of the Human Services bachelor's program: Apply your learning through clinical placements at our campus facilities or with partner organizations like Queensland Health, state government agencies, headspace, and Lifeline. Combine theoretical knowledge with practical training supervised by industry professionals. During years two and three, you'll undertake 52 days of fieldwork across two different sectors such as child welfare, mental health services, justice programs, housing support, domestic violence intervention, or disability services. Opportunities range from local to international settings. Be taught by active professionals tackling contemporary challenges in youth mental health, family support, and parenting strategies. Our faculty maintains robust connections with healthcare providers, community groups, and governmental/non-governmental agencies. Participate in ongoing career preparation throughout your studies.
