This program equips students for teaching careers in primary or secondary education. The curriculum begins with a foundational year, followed by specialization in either primary or secondary education starting in Year 1 Trimester 3. The program includes hands-on professional practice involving school observations, teaching practice, and community field studies. Graduates qualify to register with the Queensland College of Teachers. The Early Childhood Major is accredited by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority. Career opportunities include teaching positions in Queensland's independent, Catholic, and state school systems, as well as international schools, with potential advancement to leadership roles like department head or principal. Alternatively, graduates can pursue diverse paths such as: corporate or government training, outdoor education, adult literacy programs, library services, educational research, policy development, or consulting.
Qualification- International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Your entry requirements include- Successful completion with minimum aggregate score of 28 Pathways- Post-secondary qualifications are required for entry into this program. Successful completion of one year of study at a recognised tertiary or higher education institution is required in addition to the completion of high school studies.
