The postgraduate TESOL program focuses on building expertise in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. This curriculum enhances both theoretical understanding and practical abilities in second language learning, while specializing in English language instruction for non-native speakers. By blending academic foundations with teaching techniques, the program prepares future TESOL educators with essential classroom skills. Students can pursue their studies through on-campus classes, online learning, or a hybrid approach.
Completing the Master of TESOL involves two years of full-time enrollment (or part-time equivalent). This degree is administered by the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences.
The program connects with the 18-unit Graduate Certificate in TESOL and the 36-unit Graduate Diploma in TESOL, with structured coursework allowing seamless advancement through all three qualification levels.
Applicants must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution.
Graduates already with a Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching are specialised into English as a Second Language (ESL)/Languages Other than English (LOTE).
Students are strongly encouraged to check employment requirements and conditions with potential employers before enrolling in a TESOL course.
