A Master's Degree by Research is an advanced research program where students complete a supervised, time-bound research project. This program allows students to contribute meaningfully to their chosen field of study. Those who earn a Master's by Research will gain comprehensive expertise in one or more specialized areas, developing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Graduates acquire specialized analytical and technical abilities that empower them to conduct independent investigations, test hypotheses, and demonstrate research proficiency. They master relevant methodologies through both application and literature review, critically evaluate sources and data, understand how their research connects to broader knowledge, and develop strong academic writing capabilities.
Applicants must:
Have a Bachelors degree with Honours from an Australian university (which must include studies relevant to the proposed degree and field of research), or the equivalent qualification as approved by the relevant authorised delegate
Satisfy the University that they are reasonably likely to be able to successfully complete the requirements of the award within the maximum duration

IELTS (Academic): 6.5 Overall with 6.0 Speaking, 6.0 Writing, 6.0 Reading, 6.0 Listening; TOEFL iBT: 80 Overall with 18 Speaking, 22 Writing, 18 Reading, 18 Listening; Pearson PTE Academic: 58 Overall with 50 Speaking, 58 Writing, 50 Reading, 50 Listening; Cambridge C1 Advanced: 176 Overall with 169 Speaking, 169 Writing, 169 Reading, 169 Listening; Duolingo (Up to and including Semester 2, 2024): Overall 105-110
