The Master of Public Health program places significant focus on research, equipping professionals from diverse fields with advanced skills for public health careers. During the first year, students build a foundational understanding of public health concepts and research methodologies. The second year allows for specialization through one of five tracks:
Research - Investigate a topic of personal and public health significance while gaining expertise in research methods. Students conduct small-scale studies under expert guidance, developing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
Project - Master the principles of public health project design and implementation. This specialization combines theoretical frameworks with hands-on experience in developing projects under supervision.
Public Health Informatics - Explore how data and technology enhance public health practice. Students acquire specialized knowledge and technical skills for conducting informatics-focused research with mentor support.
Public Health Economics - Develop expertise in healthcare cost analysis, resource allocation, and economic evaluation. This track provides both conceptual understanding and applied skills for economics-related public health research.
Health System Management - Examine healthcare delivery through multiple lenses including ethics, policy, and leadership. Students learn to apply these perspectives in practical research projects while working with experienced supervisors.
