Excelsia College is delighted to collaborate with Sydney Film School, a globally renowned institution, to offer the Bachelor of Screen Production. This comprehensive three-year full-time program represents a partnership between Excelsia College and Sydney Film School (SFS), with academic accreditation and degrees granted by Excelsia College. Instruction is provided by Excelsia faculty (many of whom also teach at SFS) under Excelsia's academic policies and guidelines.
Classes are conducted at both Sydney Film School's Waterloo Studios and Excelsia's Macquarie Park campus. While students will need to commute between these locations throughout their studies, daily travel between campuses typically isn't necessary. The journey takes approximately 25 minutes by car or one hour via public transportation.
Students will have access to an Excelsia Course Manager at the Waterloo campus for academic support.
This innovative screen production program combines ethical values with hands-on training, industry relevance, professional viability, and social consciousness.
Participants will benefit from:
• cutting-edge studio equipment
• exceptional creative opportunities – with approximately 100 student films produced annually (depending on enrollment)
• included production budgets within tuition fees
• potential to earn 12-16 screen credits across two years
• collaboration opportunities with acting students from Excelsia's Dramatic Art program and Sydney Actors School
• an immersive learning environment mirroring professional industry standards.
Throughout the program, students gain experience in multiple production roles across various projects, developing versatile skills for industry entry. Working in film crews, they complete practical exercises and create essential pre-production materials. Production formats range from short films and web-series pilots to documentaries and experimental works. By combining timeless narrative traditions with contemporary industry approaches, the course seeks to cultivate visionary filmmakers and storytellers.
