The Bachelor of Music (Worship) is a specialized program integrated into the standard Bachelor of Music curriculum (refer to course page for more information). This program provides aspiring musicians with comprehensive technical, artistic, and analytical training while uniquely focusing on theological education for Christian ministry roles. Through specialized courses like Worship Music in Practice, Worship Music Placement, and Theology of Worship, students develop a thorough grasp of biblical principles and theological perspectives on musical worship, learning to implement these in various church environments. The curriculum examines key biblical concepts that shape individual and collective worship expressions, covering themes such as God's nature as Creator and Father, ancient worship practices, King David's legacy, Christ's life and resurrection, the Holy Spirit's role, and the church's mission.
Participants also gain hands-on experience by producing and digitally releasing an EP featuring original worship compositions suitable for both personal devotion and congregational use. This practical component covers the complete music production cycle from initial recording to final distribution.
The program includes a supervised placement in a church setting, where students receive guidance from college faculty and ministry leaders. This immersive experience fosters growth in mentorship, practical musicianship, ensemble performance, worship planning, songwriting, and leadership - connecting with Excelsia College's existing campus ministries like Gathering and Praise & Worship events. Upon graduation, students will be equipped to guide worship teams in both academic and church settings.

Qualification Requirements
NSW Higher School Certificate or its interstate or overseas equivalent, or attainment of tertiary qualification,
or satisfactory completion of at least one year’s full-time load in a tertiary course.
Audition: Applicant should prepare to present (2) pieces demonstrating their skill on their major instrument (including voice).
Musical knowledge: In the audition students will be assessed on their current musical knowledge and this will determine whether they go into a beginner or advanced stream in theory units.
International Students:
Candidates whose qualifying studies were completed in a language other than English will normally be required to demonstrate English proficiency equivalent to the overall minimum IELTS score of 6.0 with no band less than 6.0
In addition to meeting the educational, artistic and academic prerequisites above, international applicants who have not completed an educational qualification in English have to provide proof of proficiency in English through internationally recognised tests such as IELTS or TOEFL, or through satisfactory completion of an approved course at one of the College’s partner language colleges.
Overseas students applying for admission to Excelsia College courses must have reached the age of 18 years by the commencement of their studies. Excelsia College will not admit overseas students who have not yet reached 18 years of age.
