This one-year full-time program prepares you for provisional registration to teach in Western Australian primary schools. You'll study core curriculum areas including Literacy, Mathematics, Science, the Arts, and Humanities and Social Sciences, along with classroom management techniques.
A standout component involves 55 days of hands-on professional experience, helping you bridge theoretical knowledge with practical teaching skills in authentic classroom settings.
Through ECU's network of more than 1,000 partner schools and early childhood centers, you'll gain exposure to varied educational environments - from urban to rural and remote locations - working with students from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
As part of ECU's nationally recognized Master of Teaching (Primary) program, this course offers a pathway to full teaching accreditation. We strongly recommend progressing to complete the master's degree to fulfill all state and national requirements for primary school teaching registration.
