As a PhD candidate, you'll explore uncharted territory by discovering new information, creating theoretical frameworks, or offering fresh perspectives on existing data and concepts. Your work will apply deep theoretical understanding to devise practical approaches for addressing real-world challenges.

Research-based graduate programs stand apart from other postgraduate studies by requiring that research constitutes at least two-thirds of the program. While some coursework may be necessary, your primary focus will be producing a thesis under expert supervision. This dissertation must represent, according to evaluators, a significant novel contribution to any field through new discoveries, theoretical developments, or creative reinterpretations of existing knowledge. It should also showcase your ability to independently plan, execute, and conclude research projects.

During your academic journey, our university will provide necessary research tools, facilities, and funding support for attending relevant conferences both domestically and internationally.

Curtin has earned widespread recognition for its practical research aimed at tackling genuine global challenges. Our research initiatives are strengthened through collaborations with industry leaders, businesses, and government agencies, producing results that create meaningful impact across local, national, and international communities. Our established reputation as a preferred research partner ensures our graduates exceptional opportunities to emerge as pioneers in their respective disciplines.
