As a PhD candidate, you'll explore uncharted territory by discovering new information, creating theoretical frameworks, or offering fresh perspectives on existing data and concepts. Your work will apply deep theoretical understanding to devise practical approaches for addressing real-world challenges.

Research-based graduate programs stand apart from other postgraduate studies by requiring that research constitutes at least two-thirds of the program. While some coursework may be necessary, your primary focus will be producing a thesis under expert supervision. This dissertation must represent a significant, original advancement in its field through novel discoveries, theoretical developments, or creative reinterpretations, while demonstrating your ability to independently plan and execute research projects.

During your research journey, our faculties will supply necessary tools, facilities, and funding to attend relevant conferences both domestically and internationally.

Curtin University is renowned for its practical research aimed at tackling genuine global challenges. Our collaborative approach with industry, business, and government sectors leads to impactful outcomes that serve communities at local, national, and international levels.
