This teacher training program equips you for a fulfilling profession in secondary education while allowing you to focus on specialized areas. You'll gain essential knowledge and skills in modern educational practices tailored for today's students. Choose to concentrate on one or two subject areas through coursework that combines specialized content with teaching methodology.
The curriculum includes foundational courses covering educational psychology, Indigenous education, and inclusive teaching strategies for diverse learners.
Throughout the program, you'll complete four intensive teaching placements in schools, conducted in full-time blocks regardless of your study format. Placement opportunities may include rural, interstate, or international locations.
The Arts (Media Production and Analysis) Education specialization qualifies you to teach Media Production and Analysis for senior students (Years 11-12) and broader Arts curriculum for Years 7-12.
You'll develop skills to: Analyze and integrate educational theory, research, and practice to address diverse student needs; Make informed assessments using multiple data sources; Design and implement impactful lessons; Utilize digital tools and resources effectively; Maintain professional growth, meet accreditation standards, and demonstrate literacy and numeracy proficiency throughout your career.
