Earning a Master of Classical Studies (Advanced) allows you to delve into ancient Greek and Roman civilizations while embarking on contemporary travel adventures. Alternatively, leverage the University's specialized knowledge in language, literature, and ancient history, along with the extensive collections of the ANU Classics Museum, right here at home. Graduates of this program gain distinctive skills to connect ancient perspectives with modern world understanding. Admission to the Master of Classical Studies (Advanced) occurs through transfer from the Master of Classical Studies program.
Learning Outcomes
Demonstrate advanced proficiency in discussing and writing about Ancient Greek and Roman language, history, literature, art, or other cultural elements;
Develop sophisticated critical and analytical thinking skills for Classical world studies;
Conduct high-level research and present findings at near-professional standards;
Acquire reading comprehension of fundamental Latin and/or Ancient Greek texts;
Produce a substantial research thesis (24,000 words) within Classical Studies.
