Following centuries of turmoil, Europe has recently achieved a level of unity unmatched since Roman times, with the European Union representing the world's most sophisticated supranational governance system. While Europe no longer exerts global dominance through vast empires, its worldwide influence persists through philosophical thought, literary heritage, and governmental systems.
The Contemporary Europe program enables students to unify varied academic pursuits within a single discipline. This field of study offers an excellent opportunity to merge international affairs, political science, historical perspectives, sociological approaches, philosophical inquiry, literary analysis, and cultural examination, while also complementing European language studies.
