The Population Health Honours program is designed for students with a background in population health-related disciplines who wish to pursue independent research. This full-time, two-semester specialization offers research training, explores key concepts in the field, and involves a significant research project culminating in a thesis. Honours provides essential research skills that can lead to various career opportunities or serve as a stepping stone to PhD studies.
Learning Outcomes
Develop and conduct an independent, in-depth investigation of a selected research topic to contribute new knowledge to population health.
Critically assess relevant population health theories and concepts, connect them to appropriate methodologies and evidence, and derive meaningful conclusions.
Evaluate and interpret original population health research data using statistical or other analytical methods when applicable.
Acquire and apply relevant experimental techniques and methodologies in population health to gather original research data.
