The Earth Physics Honours specialization is designed for students eager to pursue an independent research project in Earth physics under faculty guidance, with prerequisite knowledge in related disciplines like Physics, Earth and Marine Sciences, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science. Typically spanning two full-time semesters, this program offers research methodology training, optional coursework in data science and computational geosciences, alongside a significant research component (24-36 units) culminating in an Honours thesis. This comprehensive preparation supports careers across industry and government sectors, while also serving as a stepping stone to advanced research degrees like Masters or Ph.D. programs.
