The Music Honours Specialization provides advanced training for professional careers or postgraduate research by cultivating an in-depth understanding of music's research methodologies, theoretical frameworks, and principles. This program involves creating and executing a substantial research project, usually a thesis of approximately 20,000 words, that generates novel insights or addresses intricate challenges in the field.

Qualification Requirements

A Bachelor of Arts degree from the ANU or equivalent from another institution. A weighted average mark equivalent to an ANU 70 per cent calculated from the 36 units ie 0.75 EFTSL of courses in the major cognate to the honours specialization, excluding 1000-level courses ie introductory undergraduate courses with the highest marks. Written approval of an identified supervisor for the thesis. And the satisfaction of any admission requirements listed in the relevant honours specialization. IELTS - Overall score - 6.5, Reading - 6.0, Writing - 6.0, Listening - 6.0, Speaking - 6.0. TOEFL IBT - Overall score - 80, Reading - 20, Writing - 20, Listening - 18, Speaking - 18.
